All paper/cardboard and wood products can carry the PEFC label. It guarantees that the raw material comes from sustainably managed forests (management that is environmentally friendly, socially beneficial and economically viable).
The PEFC certification system tracks the flow of wood/paper from the forest to the finished product. Independent certification bodies carry out the controls, both in the forest and in companies that process the wood. Today, more than 20,000 companies are PEFC certified worldwide, including more than 500 in Belgium. www.pefc.be.
