How linerless print & apply contributes to a greener future
Sustainability has long since ceased to be a hollow concept-it has become a strategic necessity for companies that want to grow forward-looking. More and more production and logistics environments are betting on environmentally friendly processes. A striking yet practical example of this? Linerless labelling.
At Presa, we help companies make their packaging process more sustainable, without sacrificing efficiency. The CAB Hermes QL, our innovative print & apply solution, is the perfect example. Thanks to the linerless system, it saves not only waste, but also time, space and costs.
What is linerless labelling?
Traditional labels have a backing paper (the “liner”) that is discarded after application. In contrast, linerless labels have no backing: they are supplied on a roll with a special coating that prevents the labels from sticking together. This means no waste of backing paper, and thus an immediate reduction in non-recyclable material.
Less waste, more impact
The benefits of linerless labelling are crystal clear:
- Up to 100% less backing paper waste
- More labels per roll = fewer changes and less storage space required
- Lower CO₂ emissions during transport, thanks to more compact rolls
- Faster processing through automated print & apply integration
In times when companies are under pressure to reduce their carbon footprint, this technology offers a viable and cost-effective way to contribute to the circular economy.
Sustainable and smart automation
The CAB Hermes QL is designed for high volumes and flexible production lines. Combined with our linerless printing technology, you get a solution that is not only ecological, but also fully ready for Industrie 4.0: easily integrated, reliable and scalable.
For sectors such as logistics, food and pharma, this offers a double win: complying with strict regulations while meeting the sustainability expectations of customers and consumers.
