On 22 September 2026, Empack and Verpakking & Label Magazine will organise the Packaging & Label Awards. This award highlights the most groundbreaking innovations in the packaging sector.

The Packaging & Label Awards 2026 not only recognise technological innovation, but also the creativity and entrepreneurship of companies active in the Belgian packaging sector. Thanks to their place within Empack Ghent, these awards are the ideal crossroads between professional knowledge, innovation and commercial relevance.

Most innovative packaging/packaging material

This category highlights innovative packaging solutions, both in terms of form and function. Entries may relate to primary packaging (such as consumer packaging for food, cosmetics, or pharmaceutical products), secondary packaging (such as cardboard boxes, trays, or displays), and tertiary packaging (such as shrink wrap, stretch film, pallet covers, or transport packaging).

Most innovative
label/tag

Labels and tags have long been more than mere carriers of information. This category focuses on label solutions that add an extra dimension to the packaged product, whether in terms of technology, sustainability, interaction, or aesthetics.

3.
Most innovative packaging machine

Efficient, reliable, and flexible packaging technology is essential in any modern production chain. This category recognizes packaging machines and technologies that go one step further in automation, sustainability, or digitization.

Who are the Awards for?

The Packaging & Label Awards are open to brand owners, designers, suppliers, and manufacturers of packaging, labels, and packaging machines operating in the Belgian market. All innovations entered must be commercially available in Belgium and launched after January 1, 2025.

The presentation of the Packaging & Label Awards 2026 is the ideal conclusion to Empack Ghent 2026. This will be followed by a networking opportunity with refreshments.

Recognition

During the Packaging & Label Awards 2026, each nominee has the chance to win two awards:
  • The Jury Certificate, awarded by an independent professional jury of experts.
  • The Public Certificate, determined by votes from the public via the Packaging & Label Magazine newsletter and live at Empack.

In addition to the Innovation Certificate, the winners will also receive an exclusive quality label – a powerful marketing tool that underlines their innovative strength and craftsmanship and can be widely used in communications with customers, partners and the sector.

In the run-up to the trade fair, all nominees will be presented in detail in the newsletters of Packaging & Label Magazine, with clear photos, product information and a direct link to the voting form.
